Dancing has many benefits for people of all ages, including but not limited to;

  • Improves the condition of your heart and lungs.

Dancing is a low-impact aerobic workout. Thus, strengthening the heart, lungs, and over all circulatory system.

  • Increases muscular strength , endurance, and motor fitness.

Dancing focuses on joint mobility and flexibility, you use isometric or static contraction. (exercising muscles  without visibly seeing movement)

  • It is a great way to manage weight.

When dancing with the right music, at the right intensity, while eating a well balanced diet; a person can burn up to 400 calories in an hour of actively dancing.

  • It helps strengthen bones and reduce the risk of osteoporosis.

To make sure dancing is reducing the risk of osteoporosis, make sure you do it regularly and filling in any days you wont be dancing with any other kind of workout . (maybe a brisk walk at the park?)

  • Gain greater confidence and self esteem in yourself!

When dancing, you meet people of all walks of life, you learn to relate, and it can be a new way to express yourself. Don’t be afraid to be “the awkward one”.  Nobody was born dancing; we all had to learn and start from somewhere right? That’s one of the many beauties of it, we all had two left feet at one point, but when taking dance lessons you can learn to have a left foot and a right one (;

Best of all its easy and fun, who wouldn’t want to take advantage of all these benefits while enjoying yourself at the same time?
