About Melanie Dale

Here are a few things about Melanie and her experience that might surprise and delight you while working together: · In the late 80s and Early 90s, Melanie trained the US Preteen and Junior Champions who were invited to Hollywood to participate in a game show where they won $750 dollars. · Her favorite movie is the Japanese version of “Shall we Dance” because it not only has great dancing, but the storyline epitomizes how ballroom can change lives for the better. · Melanie attended the first US Tango Congress in 1997 and started the Argentine Tango community in the Raleigh area. · Melanie co-founded the NC Ballroom Teachers College in 2007. Three of her former teachers are graduates and over a dozen of those who participated are still active in the dance community. · In 2009 she introduced Wheelchair Dancing at the Southern Star Women’s Show in Raleigh. She’s certified in Wheelchair Ballroom Dancing through the American DanceWheel’s Foundation. Over the years her expertise has been honored with remarkable and notable accolades: · Midtown Diamond award for “Best place for Dance Lessons” in Raleigh, NC in 2016 · Member of the North American Dance Teacher’s Association since 1984 from whom she received a Licentiate degree in American Smooth and Rhythm dances · Associate degree in International Standard from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in 1993 · Given the title of “Mother of Ballroom Dance in the Triangle” by the President of USA Dance for her great inspiration and influence in the lives of many. · Running A Step to Gold International Ballroom for over 23 years in the Raleigh area . 2016 launched a new online mentoring program called "Ballroom Dance Mentor".
